| Well online free roam means you can go to a car meet, create a free roam match and others in the lobby can join with a count down timer. However, my experience is that the count down is too fast so you can't see who is joining and with what car. So fo me showdowns are a waste. So if you do a free roam you can travel across the map picking events for whoever joins.
If you don't like the races you are in you can press options and return to solo.
